# Privacy policy — Unread Mail Counter for Mail.ru

The extension shows how many unread emails you have in the Mail.ru mailboxes you're signed in to in this browser, and the newest emails when you open it.

**What it reads.** With your permission (asked on first use), it requests `portal.mail.ru` and `e.mail.ru` the same way the Mail.ru website does, using the browser's existing Mail.ru sign-in. It gets the list of signed-in mailboxes with their unread counts and photos (from `filin.mail.ru`) and, when you open the extension or a new email arrives with notifications on, the sender, subject, beginning of the text and date of the newest emails.

**Where it goes.** Nowhere else. Emails are shown and discarded; they are not stored. Requests go only to Mail.ru. The author runs no servers and collects nothing.

**What is stored in the browser.** `chrome.storage.local`: mailboxes you excluded from the counter, the moment you chose "Start from zero" for a mailbox, whether notifications and the recent-emails list are on, and the time of the newest email already notified per mailbox. `chrome.storage.session` (cleared when the browser closes): the last unread counts.

**Passwords.** The extension never sees or asks for your password.

**Removing access.** Settings → "Disconnect Mail.ru" removes the permission; removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
